Yoga is often seen as a physical practice, and it certainly helps improve strength, mobility, balance, and overall health. But for me, its greatest gift has been the impact it has had on my mental and emotional well-being. In a world where many men feel pressure to constantly achieve, provide, and stay in control, yoga offers something different: a chance to pause, breathe, and reconnect with who we truly are.
For a long time, I hesitated to attend a yoga class. I assumed I would be the only man in the room, and that thought alone delayed the start of my journey for years. Looking back, I wish I had started sooner. The reality was very different from what I had imagined, and I discovered a practice that has enriched every aspect of my life. If you have ever felt the same hesitation, my advice is simple: don't let it stop you. Yoga is for everyone, and the benefits are far too valuable to miss because of assumptions or self-doubt
Over the last ten years, yoga has transformed my life in ways I could never have imagined. As a business executive, I spent years making decisions, leading teams, and navigating the demands of a fast-paced professional life. Yoga helped me become more authentic, more grounded in my values, and more confident in following my own path. It taught me to listen—not just to my thoughts, but to the wisdom of my body and the quieter voice within. It made me a stronger leader, but also a more human one. I found myself connecting more deeply with people, supporting them more effectively, and making decisions that felt aligned with what really mattered. Time and again, when I have followed what my body, my intuition, and nature were calling me towards, I have not been let down. The person I am today is someone I could not have imagined becoming ten years ago.
This is why I want to share the practice with other men. My intention is to create a men's Sangha—a community where men can come together, practise, talk openly, support one another, and grow together. A place where we can step away from the expectations society places upon us, build genuine connections, and help each other become more fulfilled, balanced, and authentic individuals. To bring this vision to life, I will be launching a new yoga class specifically for men from September. My hope is that it becomes much more than a weekly class; that it evolves into a supportive brotherhood where we can encourage one another, share our experiences, and continue moving forward together with greater purpose, strength, and authenticity.
